401(k)
Employees may contribute on a pretax basis up to 15% of eligible compensation and the Firm will match a percentage of your contribution. Employees enjoy web-based access to their accounts affording greater control over the allocation and distribution of funds. This benefit is available to regular, full-time employees on the first day of work.

Alternate Work Schedules
MKS&H supports an environment that promotes individual fulfillment and personal growth. This can require the need for flexibility and accountability on the part of employees and supervisors so that employees are able to balance responsibilities for themselves, their work, and their families. To support that balance, we offer employees the opportunity to develop alternative work schedules.

Bereavement Leave
All regular, full-time employees are covered by this policy, effective their first day of active employment.

Business Casual Dress Code
MKS&H is a full-time business casual environment. Employees are empowered to determine what attire is appropriate based on the business activities they have planned for any given day.

Continuing Professional Education (CPE)
The Firm incurs the cost of annual CPE classes and seminars for all full-time employees, including related expenses, such as airfare, hotel and meals. Because of MKS&H's affiliation with CPAmerica International, many CPE events are held out-of-town.

CPA Certification Bonus
Upon successful completion of the CPA certification examination, employees will receive a compensation bonus.

CPA Examination
Employees working on our professional staff in the areas of accounting, auditing and tax are encouraged to take and pass the Uniform CPA Examination at the earliest opportunity. MKS&H supports its employees who are striving to pass the CPA exam and offers the following financial benefits: 16 hours of paid time off (in addition to normal paid time off for the calendar year) for the two-day exam and reimbursement for the fees associated with taking all or part of the CPA exam upon successful completion.

CPA Review
Employees are reimbursed for one CPA review course (such as Lambers, Borra, Becker, etc.) taken in preparation for the CPA exam. As with exam fees, the review course is reimbursed to employees upon passing the entire exam, including the ethics exam.

Employee Referral Bonuses
MKS&H has developed an employee referral and bonus program to help find qualified people for certain hard-to-fill positions. Referral bonuses may range from $1,000 to $5,000, depending on the position filled.

Flexible Spending Accounts
The Firm offers two Flexible Spending Accounts. The Healthcare Spending Account allows employees to set aside pre-tax dollars each year to pay for expenses not covered by their insurance such as co-pays, eyeglasses, contact lenses, root canals and deductibles. The Dependent Care Spending account allows employees to pay for qualified dependent care expenses using pre-tax dollars.

Health Insurance/Dental Insurance
The Firm provides health insurance and dental insurance, with several coverage options, to all regular employees working at least 32 hours per week.

Life Insurance
The Firm provides life insurance to regular, full-time employees equaling three times annual base salary, up to a maximum of $200,000. Coverage begins on the first day of the month following an employee's start date.

Long Term Disability
The Firm provides long-term disability benefits beginning on the 90th day of disability, at no cost to the employee. The benefit is equal to 60% of the employee's monthly base salary up to a maximum of $5,000 per month.

Mentor Program
The Firm offers a mentoring program to successfully develop and challenge each employee. This involves matching employees with experienced personnel who will invest time, energy and expertise in assisting with their career development.

New Client Compensation
All part-time and full-time employees are eligible for certain marketing incentives given for contributing to the Firm's new business development goals.

Paid Holidays
The following eight paid holidays are granted to regular full-time employees each year: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Friday after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day.

Paid Time Off
Rather than the traditional vacation, personal leave and sick programs many employers utilize, MKS&H has developed a Paid Time Off (PTO) program. Under this system, an employee may draw upon his or her PTO days for vacation, sick leave, medical appointments, family illness or other leaves of absence.

Short Term Disability/Supplemental Insurance
All regular employees working at least 32 hours a week are able to purchase short-term disability and supplemental insurance policies through AFLAC.

Technology Loan Program
The MKS&H Technology Loan Program is designed to financially assist employees who wish to purchase or upgrade computer hardware or software for personal use. In today's ever-changing world, we understand the importance of keeping up with advances in technology. Employees may request an interest-free loan from the Firm for the purchase of technology hardware and/or software.

Tuition Reimbursement
MKS&H encourages employees to further their education and professional development with financial support from the firm. The firm reimburses tuition for approved courses to regular full-time employees with at least six months of service.
