I am a person who is fascinated by crimes committed by otherwise respectable people, who have attained some element of social status and have an occupation that can provide them a decent living. Why do these people steal from their employers, partners and family and how do they do it? I have devoted much of my career to answering these questions through cases I have handled and learning from others who investigate these crimes.

As a professional accountant and business advisor, the question of business value intrigues me. The field of business valuation is a complex area with many variables to consider and approaches to take in arriving at an opinion of value. The issue of value frequently finds its way into the court room to be decided and is therefore an appropriate area for discussion in this blog.

My plan is to provide factual information, offer advice, ask questions and solicit input that is useful to experienced professionals in the field and the legal community that uses forensic accounting and business valuation services.
