Gib Mason is a principal with MKS&H. He has 28 years of
experience in organizational stewardship and cultural
development. He has an extensive history of helping various
companies drive rapid growth and instill winning cultures.
Gib is committed to leading McLean, Koehler, Sparks & Hammond’s
growth through strategic planning, strategic alliances, new
product development, new distribution channels, and marketing.
Previously, Gib was the CEO at EntreQuest, a corporate sales
placement, consulting and training firm. There he oversaw all
operations and designed and implemented processes that
contributed to rapid revenue growth. Over a 2 year period, the
company revenue base grew 120%.
Prior to running, EntreQuest, Gib was the CFO at EMG Corp, a
privately held, national environmental and engineering
assessment consulting firm. In this capacity, he was
instrumental in navigating the company through a period of
significant change and growth. Under his direction EMG went from
a $27 million to a $52 million company in less than 2 years.
Gib played a major role as the CFO and COO during his time at
180s, Inc., a privately held, branded consumer-products company.
There he assisted in transforming it from a 4 teammate, $1
million in revenue firm in 1999 to a global company of over 100
teammates and $45 million in revenue by 2004. He was
instrumental in the development and refinement of 180s
financial, operations and human resource strategies. In
addition, as part of the senior leadership at American Express
Tax and Business Services (formerly Wolpoff & Company, LLP), Gib
was responsible for firm administration and all aspects of
practice marketing and human resource management. When Wolpoff &
Company was purchased by American Express, Gib helped manage the
integration of the two organizations.
Gib has spent the last 20 years dedicated to the social and
economic development of the community in which his family lives
and works. He has deep commitment to the education and
enrichment of children. As co-founder and board member of the
b4students foundation, they concentrate their efforts on
bringing awareness, opportunity, and inspiration to all
underserved, at-promise high-school students. Recently, the
program was rolled up under the umbrella of the Big Brother, Big
Sisters of Maryland. In addition, he sits on the board for the
Maryland Mentoring Partnership (MMP) and the Alex Brown
Entrepreneurship Center Board.
In the area of economic development, he has participated through
the Greater Baltimore Alliance as an ambassador for Baltimore on
executive sales missions to California and Texas. Gib has also
been involved in retaining current businesses in Baltimore
through the Downtown Partnership’s Corporate Call program.
Additionally, he has sat on numerous boards and advisory
committees of for-profit companies and not-for-profit entities.
Gib graduated cum laude from the University of Maryland
Baltimore County with a Bachelor’s degree in economics. He is
currently pursuing a Masters in organizational development from
Johns Hopkins University’s Carey School of Business. In
addition, Gib is a Certified Public Accountant.
