McLean, Koehler, Sparks & Hammond Adds to Accounting Staff

McLean, Koehler, Sparks & Hammond is pleased to announce five new staff additions in both the Hunt Valley and Frederick offices. Jennifer Barrett and Cheryl Edmands have joined the firm as senior accountants, Kimberly Erwin has joined the firm as an in-charge accountant and Vincent Grey and Jonathan Davis have joined the firm as staff accountants. MKS&H is delighted to have found such qualified personnel in the industry and be fully staffed this busy season.

Ms. Barrett, a resident of Frederick, has experience testing, supervising and preparing financial statements as well as performing audits. In addition to conducting audits in her previous position with a national CPA firm, she also helped to recruit and train new staff members. Ms. Barrett received a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, completed a minor in Information Systems and is currently working toward a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Mount St. Mary’s University. She will be working in the Frederick office.

A resident of Monrovia, Ms. Edmands began her career in public accounting in 1997 after obtaining her CPA designation. She has extensive experience in individual and business tax preparation and planning.  Ms. Edmands also has experience in accounting and financial statement assurance. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Frostburg State University and a Master’s degree in Taxation from American University. Ms. Edmands will be working in the Frederick office.

Ms. Erwin, a resident of Reisterstown, brings a variety of accounting experience in the areas of individual, corporate, non-profit, estate and franchise tax returns. She also has career experience in management, operational planning and negotiation. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Accounting from Villa Julie College, now known as Stevenson University. Ms. Erwin will be working in the Hunt Valley office.

A resident of Severn, Mr. Grey has completed internships with two local CPA firms prior to joining MKS&H. During his internships, he gained experience working with banks and non-profit organizations on audits and completed personal and corporate income tax returns. He recently received a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Salisbury University. Mr. Grey is a CPA candidate in the state of Maryland. He will be working in the Hunt Valley office.

Mr. Davis, a resident of Abingdon, has completed two accounting internships. He has experience with income and property tax returns and performing tax research for clients.Recently, Mr. Davis received a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Towson University. He is currently a member of Tomorrow’s CPA. Mr. Davis will be working in the Hunt Valley office.
