Alvin L. Miller, CPA was admitted to the partnership of McLean, Koehler, Sparks & Hammond in 1979. He concentrates his practice in accounting and auditing and works closely with not-for-profit organizations, long-term care providers, fuel oil distributors and manufacturers. He also has a recognized expertise in providing business consulting for funeral homes. As head of the Firm's quality control team, Al is responsible for major decisions that affect service for all of the Firm's clients. He graduated from Pennsylvania State University and served for several years in the U.S. Army. Al is a member of the Maryland State Funeral Suppliers Association.

Bill Fitzpatrick is a Partner in the Accounting and Assurance Division of McLean, Koehler, Sparks & Hammond. Bill utilizes his 28 years of experience to consult with companies in insurance, finance, real estate, wholesale and retail distribution, manufacturing and professional service industries. In the not-for-profit sector, Bill has extensive experience representing trade associations, labor unions, private schools, religious and charitable organizations, social and civic organizations, DHMH services providers, benefits trusts, child sports and development organizations, private foundations and others.

In addition to extensive compliance experience, Bill’s expertise includes business improvement, business plan preparation, negotiations, assistance with obtaining financing and capital, the purchase and sale of businesses and various other corporate matters. He also has experience with fraud investigations, litigation support services, expert witness testimony and business valuations.

Bill graduated with honors from the University of Baltimore, with a B.S. degree in business administration and a concentration in accounting. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Valuation Analyst. In his previous position with a Baltimore County CPA firm, Bill served as the partner in charge of the Accounting and Business Services Department and as Quality Control Director for the firm. Bill was recognized as one of the top 50 CPAs in Maryland by SmartCEO Magazine in 2004 and 2007 and is a frequent speaker to family and entrepreneurial businesses and non-profit organizations.

Barb Walker is a Partner with MKS&H and the leader of the firm’s Frederick Accounting and Auditing  practice.  In her 15 years at MKSH, Barb has assisted a variety of entrepreneurial companies and non-profit organizations with their compliance and operational issues. Barb has extensive experience in various industries including construction, wholesale distribution, hospitality, manufacturing, government contracting, professional services, health care, and cemetery and funeral homes. In the non-profit sector, Barb has utilized her expertise to assist private schools, trade associations, long-term care providers, developmental service providers and governmental entities with their business and compliance needs.   In addition to their compliance needs, Barb has provided companies and organizations with assistance in obtaining financing, cash flow forecasting, operational reviews, controllership duties, internal control analysis, agreed upon procedure engagements and various other matters.

Barb received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland at College Park as well as an MBA, with a concentration in Accounting, from Mount Saint Mary's College.  She is a Certified Public Accountant and a Certified Valuations Analyst. Barb serves as Treasurer on the Executive Board of the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce.  She is a past Board member of the Rotary Club of Carroll Creek and is currently a member of the Rotary Club of Frederick. Barb is  a graduate of the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Frederick program.  She also is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants.

Wayne is a Principal in Mclean, Koehler, Sparks and Hammond’s growing Accounting and Assurance Department. Wayne utilizes his 16 years of experience to consult with family owned and managed businesses and nonprofit organizations and manage the firm’s construction industry practice. In addition to construction, Wayne also assists clients in the manufacturing, wholesale, community services and healthcare industries.

Wayne received his Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Baltimore and his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Towson State University. He serves on the board of directors of the American Subcontractors Association and serves in leadership roles with Associated Builders and Contractors and Building Congress and Exchange. He also is an active member of the Construction Financial Management Association.

Wayne has extensive experience with organizations that have rehabilitation and residential programs for physically and mentally challenged individuals. He currently serves on the executive committee of the board of directors of a community mental health provider affiliated with the Sheppard Pratt Health System. Other nonprofit involvement includes serving on the finance committee of a local private school.
